Validate CUCM Backups

Community records high-level CUCM DRS status. Essentials or higher reads the DRS FeatureObject metadata, compares expected components with the files received, and publishes component/file results to the CUCM Backup Dashboard. Backup bundles are also available on Essentials or higher.

Review Backup Health Across Clusters

Open SFTP Server > CUCM Backup Dashboard. The summary separates healthy clusters, warnings, and sources with no recent backup.

Use the date selector to bound the review period. For each cluster, check:

  • Status: Healthy, a missing-component warning, or no backup.
  • Last Backup: when the most recent DRS set arrived.
  • Missing Components: components expected by the manifest but absent from storage.
  • Cluster and account username: the source and SFTP destination involved.

Inspect Validation History

Select the view control for a cluster. The detail drawer shows the server, CUCM version, last successful validation, and the recent validation records.

A validation record identifies the source FeatureObject file and whether the expected DRS components were present. Use Browse when you need to inspect the files associated with that validation. Essentials+ organizations can use Create Bundle to collect the validated set for controlled recovery evidence.

Respond to an Incomplete Backup

When the dashboard reports missing components:

  1. Open the affected cluster and note the backup time and missing component names.
  2. Check Run History for a failed or skipped validation action.
  3. Confirm CUCM completed the DRS job and transferred every referenced file.
  4. Check account storage and quota status for interrupted writes or cleanup pressure.
  5. Correct the source or transfer issue and run a new backup.
  6. Confirm the new validation is healthy.
warning

Do not treat an incomplete DRS set as recovery-ready. Correct the source or transfer issue and confirm a later validation is healthy.

Use the validation record as durable arrival and component evidence alongside your organization's established recovery procedures.
